Trees for Environmental Protection

In northwest China, the extreme winter and summer climates have resulted in frequent natural disasters. Soil erosion has transformed the high plateaus into yellow sandy wasteland. Water resource is scarce. Not only is the drinking water insufficient but the land is also too dry to grow crops. Reforestation is urgently needed to help retain more moisture in the soil so that the villagers can eventually farm their land to improve their livelihood.
